National Coffee Day: Get Your Coffee Fix For Free On 9/29

By Kyle Buis

Here's a way to get your Tuesday kicked off right—it's National Coffee Day.

Several stores are celebrating, according to the Consumerist, but be ready to be disappointed if you're after free coffee at Starbucks—you'll only get the satisfaction of charity instead of caffeine.

Here's a rundown of some of the offerings you can find in the Sacramento area:

Peet's Coffee & Tea: Free small cup of Peet's Major Dickason Blend with any purchase of a baked good, oatmeal or fresh food item.

Panera Bread: Free coffee for rewards members continues.

Krispy Kreme: Customers can get a free small coffee (12 oz) and a free original glazed doughnut.

Whole Foods: Coffee (12 oz) for a quarter continues.

Maui-Wowi: Customers shopping online can get 50 percent off with the coupon code ALOHACOFFEE.

As is always the case with these promotions, you might want to call ahead and check, because not all locations may be participating.

Oh, and Modesto—Dunkin' Donuts is giving out a free medium cup of coffee. Maybe next year, there will be a few more locations.

Of course, if you're a coffee snob and want to take in something better than discount coffee, there are plenty of local options, including Insight Coffee Roasters, Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters, and  Temple Coffee Roasters.
