Toyko Apartments Cater To Wine Lovers' Tastes

An apartment building in Tokyo caters to wine lovers.

According to Reuters, the apartment in Tokyo's Shibuya District has a climate-controlled room for 10,000 bottles and a visiting sommelier to offer advice on wine-food pairings. Residents can also use 100 types of classy glasses on display in the lobby.

"Tokyo is a unique market for wine lovers," said Takayuki Suzuki, the president of property developer Inovv Inc. told Reuters.

About 70 percent of the units have been taken. Monthly rent for the apartments of 452 to 495 square feet run from 239,000 yen to 258,000 yen ($2,400 to $2,600). That's about 30 percent above the market price in the area, says Reuters.
