Best Bars With A College Night In Sacramento

College bars cater to a unique crowd looking for cheap drinks and lively entertainment. Sacramento area bars do a good job attracting college kids, with a variety of custom drinks, games or student specific specials. Having so many students in the city has created a basic supply and demand scenario for such watering holes. Sacramento and Davis offer the best nights out for those going to school. As a college student looking for the best bang for your buck, these are the places to check out.

Bisla's offers a college night every Tuesday with a $5 cover for those 18 and over and no cover for those 21 and over. Budget-minded students can take advantage of $2 drinks until midnight, $2 High Life pints and $1 sliders. A student ID will get you 10 percent off as well. Line dancing is also offered on Tuesday nights for those seeking a country scene with their drink specials. Every day happy hour includes $2 well drinks and $2 High Life pints from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., so anytime you stop by, you'll be able to save some cash for books while still enjoying the social scene.

Just outside of Sacramento in the town of Davis is the Davis Graduate. The bar's famous 3@3 happy hour runs 3–6 p.m. Monday through Friday. For just $3, you can get 32 ounce domestic beers, double wells, all pints and teas. Wednesday night is club night with a $5 cover for those 18 and over and no cover for those over 21. Club night features a hip hop top 40 playlist and drink specials from 10 p.m. to close. Another very popular college night at The Graduate is Friday's Country Night. This night offers not two-for-ones, but 5--yes, 5-for ones. The drink special starts at 9 p.m. with a $10 cover for those age 18 to 20 and $6 cover for the over 21 crowd. Take $2 off if you produce a college ID.

Stinger's offers a comfortable dive bar feel with down to earth bartenders and stellar burgers and hot wings. Thursday night is when students like to show up for free cover and $4 well vodka and Red Bulls. The crowd tends to comprise of students who live within walking distance of the CSUS campus and the countless apartments that surround the area, making this a popular stop for the college crowd.

For a different, more mellow take on the college scene, head to Tokyo Fro's. Fro's is a place often frequented for its tasty (and cheap) sushi rolls. You can grab the roll of the day for just $8, Monday through Friday with happy hour running from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5 p.m. to close on Sunday. Tuesday night is the big college night at Tokyo Fro's, when college kids can get their karaoke fix if  at 8 p.m. Monday and Thursday nights also draw a good college crowd with $3 drink specials, half off draft beers and no cover charge.

Wednesday nights at Fire Dance attract a large college crowd with $2 well drinks from 9 p.m. to midnight. This bar is in a very unassuming strip mall located across the street from a sea of endless apartments next to the river. The bartenders are very personable, making the atmosphere easy going and comfortable. For those conveniently located in the apartments across the street, this bar is within stumbling distance from home. The college crowd generally starts to come in at around 10 p.m.
