Best Alternatives To Trick-Or-Treating In Your Neighborhood In Sacramento

Allowing your children to go door to door on Halloween in this day and age may not be your cup of tea, so here are a few alternative options to choose from. The diversity is great and covers a variety of dates, giving you options to celebrate Halloween on more than one night this season. Choose to visit The Bone Zone, the Evil Queen's Lair or make a trip through Old Sacramento. Other choices include gospel music, inflatable houses, face painting and giving back to help the food bank. No matter where your choices take you, each is sure to include family fun.

Children of all ages love fairytales and A Grimm Halloween brings them to life at Fairytale Town for this Halloween holiday. Seventeen candy stations are to be found as you wander through the various fairytales. Your little princess will want to visit Sleeping Beauty's castle and walk through the forest of Little Red Riding Hood. The little warrior in your family may want to visit the Evil Queen's Lair or search for the big bad wolf or a dragon or two. Other events to entertain are a costume parade, puppet theatre and various hands-on activities.

The Discovery Museum weighs in on this howling Halloween with activities to explore. The Bone Zone exhibit will be open for your future doctors, there is a Halloween craft to be made and children can show off their costumes. The planetarium will be showing a frightfully fun movie and visitors are warned to watch for creepy-crawly surprises throughout the night. This is the museum's first Halloween event and it is sure to thrill all little visitors.

Bayside Church is joining in on safe fun with its 14th Annual Bayside Trunk or Treat. The Bayside campuses will come alive with a variety of spooky fun. An estimated crowd of 7,000 people are expected to join the festivities this year. Bayside is encouraging the community to get involved by bringing their decorated cars or trucks to either location and donating candy to hand out to the children and canned goods to be given to the Placer County Food Bank. The event will include the decorated vehicles, carnival games, inflatable bounce houses, live music, face painting, food vendors and candy.

This is the largest Halloween event for younger children in Sacramento! It features a harvest maze, magic show, face painting, crafts & family fun, a costume parade and more! Admission is $6.00 per person – 2 and under FREE. Every admission includes a coupon for $2.00 for food or games! The miniature village takes on a harvest festival theme and provides activities and fun for the entire family in a safe environment.

If you would rather join the animals for Halloween, then Boo at the Zoo is the place to be. Ghoulish games are the highlight as the children travel around the lake to 25 different candy stations. Children can ride on the spooky train or the creepy carousel on either night in between collecting their goodies. There is also a costume dance party and a magic show on the agenda. All events are approved spookiness for ages 10 and under.
