One Person Shot In Merced County Deputy Involved Shooting

MERCED COUNTY (CBS13) — One person was injured in a Merced County deputy-involved shooting in the city of Stevinson.

The Merced County Sheriff's Office said the deputy stopped a man Friday night in the area of Highway 165 for gang-related activity with illegal firearms.

The man got out of his car and the deputy shot him once in the leg.

The man was transported to the hospital and no deputies were hurt.
