Man Demolishes His Wife's House Without Her Knowledge

A married woman in New York state has found her happy home torn asunder, quite literally, by her own husband. According to CBS New York, Diane Andryshak discovered her home, a "modest 900-square-foot ranch home," in ruins after her husband James Rhein flattened it with an excavator without her knowledge. Apparently it contained all of her worldly possessions, from appliances to clothing, and nothing escaped the destruction. Andryshak was not inside at the time.

Rhein reportedly did not secure the proper permits for demolition from the city of Middletown and even failed to request for utilities to be shut off. Neighbors expressed concerned about the latter: "Luckily, none of us were hurt," Marina Cassidy said. As a result of the charges brought against him, Rhein will likely find himself a brand new home…in the Big House.
