The 'Normal Barbie' Doll Is Here!

Did you love Barbies growing up? The dolls have always been popular with young girls, but their unrealistically small bodies and arched feet don't make them look like real women. Concerned that Barbie and other fashion dolls have created impossible standards for young girls that could possibly lead to body image issues, inventor Nikolay Lamm has created the "Normal Barbie" (aka the Lammily doll).

According to Self Magazine, the Lammily doll is based on real proportions of a 19-year-old girl and offers a unique accessory: a sticker pack featuring acne, bruises, moles, stitches, cellulite, freckles, tattoos, etc. The purpose of this is to be relatable to young girls and to show them you can still be beautiful, despite not being "flawless." Although the doll is currently only available in one style (caucasian with brunette hair), the Lammily website says that by 2015, they plan to create dolls with other races and body types.

The Lammily doll retails for $25 at Lammily.com, and accessories include outfits and the sticker pack.
