It's time to take to the high seas and set sail! Today, Tina is putting on her wet suit and captain's hat and hopping on a sail boat with the Port of West Sacramento Lake Washington Sailing Club. This open house event is open to sailors and non-sailors, young and old, and gives everyone the opportunity to ride on a sail boat if they never have before!

Duck Pluck Festival
Today Natomas Schools Foundation presents the 5th Annual Natomas Duck Pluck festival benefiting local Natomas Schools.
The event is free and open to the public, and features more than 100 booths, including food vendors, carnival-like games, arts, sports and education activities that will serve the interest of all ages and all family members.

YOLO aka "You Only Live Once," is a phrase that has swept the Nation over the last 2 years and is also something Kevin Hernandez has been saying since he was 10 years before Drake, but that's besides the point!
Anyways, today we are at a new restaurant called Yolo Gyros & Burgers Sports Bar, that promises to bring new meaning to this famous catch phrase! The reason behind the name? It's because it is right on the Yolo County Line.

Thunder Over Solano
The Thunder Over Solano 2014 Travis AFB Air Expo is scheduled for May 3-4. We are one of only 2 bases in California to host an airshow. This is a free, open to the public event. Gates open at 9:30a.m. both days and the performances are from 10:30 a.m.- 4:30p.m. The Army Golden Knights parachute team will kick off the event, while the Thunderbirds close it with an hour long performance.

Genny Heikka is an author, speaker, and passionate mentor to moms and writers. Before having kids, she was busy climbing the corporate ladder as a manager at a global computer company. But after quitting her job to be a stay-at-home mom, she rediscovered her love for writing and set out to pursue her dream of becoming an author.
She lives in Roseville with her husband and two kids, where she balances writing with motherhood and loves both. She's the author of Finding Mommy Bliss, as well as seven children's books. In addition to writing regularly for parenting magazines and websites, Genny co-hosts the Part-Time Author Podcast and reviews books for the San Francisco Book Review. She previously served as the Assistant Regional Advisor for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators in North/Central California for seven years.
