Our Hope For The Future Lives In Dixon!

The Dixon community honored a little girl on Thursday who's become the talk of the town after her good deed.

Earlier this month, second grader Jessica Gutierrez was walking to school when she spotted a small white pouch on the sidewalk. Instead of walking past it as many kids had done earlier that morning, she picked it up and discovered it was full of hundreds of dollars in cash!!!

Not only that, it contained a driver's license, a debit card and credit cards. Jessica never thought about keeping the dough and turned it in IMMEDIATELY when she got to school.

Dixon Police was notified and the woman who dropped the pouch was THRILLED to get it back.

It turns out it was actually her rent money and if she wouldn't have gotten it back, she would've been kicked out of her home.

We talked to Jessica about the award and what being honored meant to her.
