Woman Missing After Driving Car Into Sacramento River

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Sacramento Drowning and Accident Rescue Team and firefighters are searching for a woman who drove her car into the Sacramento River in West Sacramento.

The woman called a family member on Wednesday morning to say she had driven into the river and couldn't get out of her car, says CHP Sgt. Brent Schultz. She then hung up and called 9-1-1 and while she was on the phone with an emergency dispatcher, her phone went dead.

"We had a call into our dispatch center from the driver that she had run into the river and was unable to get out of the car. At this point in time, we have indications that her vehicle has gone into the river," said Schultz.
