This all ages gathering (21+ at The Torch Club) begins at 4:30 p.m. on February 17 at Mulvaney's building and loan. Enjoy some fodder and libations before following Element Brass Band through the streets of Midtown to the next stop at The Porch restaurant and bar. Spend some time partying at The Porch, and then march off to Easy on I for some more fun and dancing. A perfect place to end the night is The Torch Club. It will be featuring Sacramento's own Earls of Newton, a "swingin' dixie" band with a real New Orleans feel.

Chef Luis at Revolution Wines actually started his career in New Orleans at Restaurant August. On Fat Tuesday (Feb. 17), Revolution Wines is putting on a gumbo dinner for Mardi Gras from 5 to 9 p.m. You can't get more authentic than a chef who is actually from Louisiana! Reservations are recommended for this intimate wine bar dinner. Revolution calls its wines "vineyard-to-table" just like the popular farm-to-table movement. It works with local fruits and makes and sells its wines locally. Revolution also has a great patio and wonderful food. It regularly does wine pairings and tastings, so check the online calendar often.

District 30 looks like a nightclub you'd find in L.A. with its marble bars and leather-lined booths. It boasts of the best and loudest sound system in Sacramento, which definitely makes for one of the best places for dancing as well. It also has something not many people have in Sacramento — late hours, it's open till 3 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday. For Mardi Gras, District 30 is going to put on a party that lasts all weekend, the 13-15. It's spending $10,000 on props and decorations to transform District 30 into Bourbon Street, complete with real hurricanes and plenty of beads. The go-go dancers will dress the part with masks and beads and Mardi Gras-themed outfits.
