Cops: Man who hid heroin in behind now hiding from verdict

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man who last year hid heroin in his behind is now hiding from the consequences.

The (Wilkes-Barre) Times reports 32-year-old Sherman Wilborne skipped out of his Luzerne County drug trial during a lunch recess on Monday. The trial continued Tuesday and Wilborne was convicted of charged that he sold heroin to another man in March 2015 and was later found with heroin secreted in his behind during a police search.

Defense attorney Mary Deady says she doesn't know why Wilborne left, or where he went.

Common Pleas Judge David Lupas issued a bench warrant for Wilborne's arrest and has revoked his bail. He had been free on bond while standing trial.

Wilborne is due back in court for sentencing Dec. 12.
