Ice Cream Safari

Mobile Pop-Up Dog Park
Today the mobile Pop-Up Dog Park is back in Sacramento! Back by popular demand, the Pop-Up Dog Park will also be accompanied by a number of special canine-friendly activities such as having the Front Street Animal Shelter on-site to promote pet adoptions and offer microchip services, volunteers providing obedience training, and interested vendors offering gift giveaways, selling pet-friendly "swag" items and more!

20,000 Meals for Hunger
Volunteers are coming together in an attempt to end hunger!! The Gold Country Outreach is a nonprofit organization that will package 10,000 mac & cheese and 10,000 rice and beans free meals today! Over 90 volunteers will help package these meals, which will be distributed to local food banks, schools, and organizations that help feed the hungry. In February, GCO packaged 10,000 meals. The project went so smoothly, the volunteers supported doing 20,000 meals at this event.

Banana Festival
Deuce is going bananas for bananas at the 7th Annual Banana Festival! The festival is a family-friendly festival featuring Multi-Cultural Entertainment, Fitness & Cuisine and of course bananas!! Fallen K-9 Dedication
Old Foothill Farms of Sacramento County, will be dedicating a memorial marker in honor of Jag, the Twin Rivers School District K-9 officer that was killed in a training accident last January. The marker, a granite boulder with bronze plaque, has been placed in Pioneer Park across the street from Pioneer Elementary School in Old Foothill Farms.

We all know the story of Selena Quintanilla Perez, she was the Texas-born Mexican-American singer who shot and killed in 1995 by the president of her fan club. It's been over 21 years since her tragic death, but her fan club is bigger than ever! This year the family hosted the 2nd Annual Fiesta de la Flor, a festival dedicated to Selena in her hometown of Corpus Christi Texas. Next week Madame Tussauds Hollywood will immortalize Selena forever and unveil her brand new wax figure.

Carnival of the Dead
The Oldest Annual Zombie Walk in the world returns for more undead fun! The Sacramento Zombie Walk is an interactive large-scale community performance art event. Everyone is encouraged to dress as the undead and invade Roosevelt Park for the 3rd Annual Carnival of the Dead, then terrorize the R Street Corridor and return to the park for an outdoor screening of the Sam Raimi's 1992 Undead Masterpiece 'Army of Darkness'.
