Keep California Beautiful (KCB) and their partners are hosting their annual celebration at the Capitol for Earth Day, and this year, the event will focus on the dedicated school districts throughout California that participated in the KCB School Recycling Challenge. Eighty schools were challenged with the task of recycling and composting everything possible - from the classroom into the lunchroom.

Earth Day Chalk Project
Grass Valley Charter School, Bitney College Prep High School and the Wolf Creek Community Alliance are teaming up to host the second annual chalk art project on Earth Day, April 22, in the lower parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Grass Valley. Fourth grade and high school art and science students will use the "canvas" of the parking lot to paint (in biodegradable chalk) a picture of Wolf Creek - the hidden treasure that flows through Grass Valley.

Make-a-Wish Dinner
The mission for Make-A-Wish is to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
