Hotel Triton: A Win-Win for Man & Man's Best Friend

Whether it's business or pleasure (or a combination of the two) bringing you to San Francisco, there is no better place to rest your head at night than Hotel Triton. Reason #1: The Kimpton gem is located in the heart of one of the most magnificent cities in the world. It's close enough to Union Square without being overrun by sightseers and shoppers and is only a block away from China Town, which is home to some of the best Asian cuisine and people-watching in the city. Adjacent to Hotel Triton is an adorable French bistro called Café de la Presse that I would definitely recommend for breakfast or brunch. From the art-lined walls and racks of Euro magazines for sale, to the steaming cafe au laits served in oversized mugs and intoxicating scents of freshly-baked pastries, Café de la Presse is a little piece of Paris just steps away from your hotel room. There is usually a line but it goes quickly and is worth the wait. I indulged in the Pain Perdu (French toast with berries) and the Omelette au Fromage et aux Herbes (omelet with goat cheese and herbs) and managed to finish them both without coming up for air.

Reason #2: The Hotel Triton staff is attentive and accommodating, making each individual guest feel like the most important person in the entire hotel. From check-in to check-out, I felt like a true VIP. And the rooms themselves are eclectic and unique without being too over-the-top. While cozy, the layout of the standard room doesn't make you feel cramped. The decor is colorful and exuberant, giving the small space a big personality! I also got the chance to go inside the Kathy Griffin suite! This Celebrity Suite is equal parts sleek and chic, with a dash of sex appeal. When filming her TV series, "My Life on the D-List," comic Kathy Griffin traveled to San Francisco to design a suite at the Hotel Triton. The finished product is filled with her special touches which include wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling white suede drapes!! Kathy may be D-List but this suite is definitely A-List and worth experiencing!!

Reason #3: The extras. By this I mean the amenities and other "stuff" that comes with the amazing location, pleasant staff and comfortable rooms. "Stuff" like their pet-friendly features. It starts when you walk through the front doors at Hotel Triton with a special pet area. Complete with a bowl of water and a chalkboard welcoming specific pets as guests. Imagine your dog's name for all to see at the entrance of the hotel -- now you AND you're dog can feel like a VIP! They also offer pet sitting, grooming, walking and massage services FOR YOUR PET!!! There really is no place more perfect for any primped pooched or persnickety person than the posh Hotel Triton. Side note: If you're looking for a quick remedy after a long night of partying try the "Hair of the Dog" package. A delicious and useful Bloody Mary kit delivered to your room at whatever time you request (because we all know nothing kills a nasty hangover quicker than the hair of the dog)!

The last time Court visited this place was 5 years ago just to get her boss and co-workers off her back about learning how to ski. Well it didn't work because they're still yapping so in a final attempt to hush the crowd Courtney Dempsey will actually go to the snow and learn how to snowboard.

Manly Minute – 5 Old School Scents

If you want to smell like the 70's and 80's these old school scents are still available to sweep the ladies off of their feet or knock them out with the power of your manliness and musk.

Among them you'll find fragrances that once sat in Grandpa's bathroom-English Leather, Old Spice, Aqua Velva-but are now overlooked or snickered at by the younger generation.

I'll be honest. I used to turn up my nose at these colognes and aftershaves too. I figured if they were being sold in a drugstore in plastic bottles for $5 and not at a department store in fancy glass bottles for $50, they probably smelled awful. Without an endorsement from Diddy, how good could they be? Oh, the power of branding on my feeble mind!
