Manly Minute: 5 Great Men Of The 80's

From sports to politics and entertainment, these five men were larger than life in the 80s and made a lasting impression on history. Their legacies live on Today.

Here are 5 such trailblazers and a little about their contribution to the great U.S. of A.

1) MAGIC JOHNSON

The Lakers dominated in the 70s and Johnson won four more rings in '80s. He had a lot of fun on the court and went on to become the celebrity face of AIDS.

2) RONALD REAGAN

This charismatic former actor was the governor of California, yes, but his leading role was serving as commander and chief throughout the '80s ('81-'89). Although he was divisive in some of his policies, he ended the cold war and is still a man conservative leaders often claim to be like.

3) HIROSHI YAMAUCHI

This guy invented Nintendo. 'Nuf said.

4)BILL GATES

Still the richest man alive, Gates founded Microsoft in the 70's and rolled across the competition, making Windows the industry standard for operating systems.

5)MICHAEL JACKSON

The undisputed King Pop practically invented hit music videos and holds the record for the best-selling album of all-time. He also has nine number one hit singles -- more than any other performer.
