LL Cool J Talks To Good Day, Court Swoons (As Usual)

LL Cool J talked to Good Day Sacramento this morning about hosting the Grammy Awards for the third time in a row on Sunday. He said the key to staying fresh is just to have fun with it and relax.

Q: Do you drink coffee?

LL: No, every now and then I drink a little coffee. But I don't drink a lot of coffee. Not really, no.

Q: Not even on Grammy day? Because I was on the red carpet watching you last year; you talked to no less than 175 people in a row, all of which were probably asking the same questions. How do you keep it fresh?

LL: You just have fun with it and just have a conversation, and don't try to like, memorize answers. I mean, you know, just be yourself. Or you find yourself by yourself.

Q: It's the biggest night for musicians. In fact, you were quoted as saying when you win or get nominated it's like winning the Super Bowl for musicians. How do you get pumped up for this?

LL: It doesn't take anything to get pumped up. One you hear that you're part of the Grammys, you hear you're nominated, it's an amazing feeling for an artist because the majority of artists really do start at the bottom of the craft and work their way up. For those that work their way up, it's an amazing feeling to be nominated and finally recognized. This year's show is going to have amazing artists on it.

Q: Isn't the closing act going to be all the artists getting together? A lot of great bands coming together to close the show?
LL: It's going to be incredibly memorable…people will be pleasantly surprised. They should watch it all the way through to the end. Don't miss any of it. It's gonna be cool.

We're looking forward to seeing LL and the other amazing recording artists as they take the stage this Sunday! You can be sure Courtney will be watching.
