Steve Sax Baseball Clinic
Five-Time All-Star second baseman Steve Sax stops by Good Day!!! We'll chat with the five-time All-Star about his upcoming baseball camp for local kids AND talk MLB playoffs! Even though the Oakland A's are out, there's still a lot to talk about! Steve's baseball career spanned 18 years and featured many impressive moments. He was named "National League Rookie of the Year" in 1982 and continued to improve his game with each passing season. Steve played second base with intensity and toughness for the Los Angeles Dodgers until 1988. During his years with the team, Steve's defensive play was a key element in the team's winning two World Series. He then played for the New York Yankees from 1989 to 1991 and then went on to play for the Chicago White Sox and Oakland A's.

Pioneer Day at Elementary School
Elitha Donner Elementary is celebrating the school's 20th anniversary with pioneer festivities -- the birth date of its namesake. Elitha Donner was a young teenager when she survived the Donner Party tragedy and arrived at Sutter's Fort. Soon after that, she and her husband settled in the Elk Grove area near what is now referred to as "Lent Ranch." Her husband opened Rhoad's School, which is now in Elk Grove Park.
